December Happy Hour - Finding Your Way Back: Rediscovering Why You Started Brewing
Wednesday, December 17 - 5pm MST. Brought to you by the AHA Community & Education Committee.
After nearly hanging it up, Matt Giovanisci did something radical: he grabbed his old gear, headed to the mountains, and brewed the simplest beer he could. This webinar isn’t about technique or recipes - it’s about rediscovering what drew you to brewing in the first place.
Matt Giovanisci has been homebrewing since 2005 and runs the Brew Cabin YouTube channel, where he focuses on making homebrewing fun and accessible through collaborative brewing experiences. After taking a year-long break when the hobby became too technical, he’s back to exploring the joy of simple brewing in the Rocky Mountains.
Im a bit the same. So many technical innovations, which are great, in the 20+ yrs i have been brewing, but i prefer simplicity in the process. The majority of my beers are quite simple, and so is my brewing and fermenting process. I still enjoy my beers, so don’t feel a need to adjust/tweak/change for the sake of it. I do try new things, but if i don’t find a significant improvement, i go back to basics.
Same here. Been brewing the same for over 30 years now. Simple single infusion mash and a fly sparge. I even use primings when I keg.
I have seen all sorts of systems RIMS, HERMS now all in ones. Just goes to show there are many ways to make good beer.
Hey …look’n forward to hosting Matt at 5 PM MST at this Zoom link - https://sam-firm.zoom.us/j/88244240458?pwd=mQ0daOh5gi684AwnUljDWJfWZwigkg.1&from=addon. As Drew said ….there’s some serious weather blowing in on the Front Range and Matt’s concerned about power an internet. However …so far …everything looks good so I’m looking foward to seeing you!
