Deschutes here for Beer Week

Celebrating Beer Week  here in Ohio. Deschutes has rolled into town with a wooden keg on wheels, serving up their beers…looking forward to sampling them.

Heading downtown for the weekend of festivities, starting with Hofbräuhaus tonight and finishing with Browns-Broncos game on Sunday.

Have you tried any Deschutes before?

never…bad?

No, its everywhere here in the Columbia River Gorge area. They make solid beers. The main stays (stuff that comes in 12s) are all drinkable cooler fillers. Nothing that will blow your hair back, but solid. Im not a big IPA drinker but i like their Fresh Squeezed. If they bring some, it worth trying some of their Reserve stuff like Dissident and Abyss.

ok cool. yes they are featuring fresh squeeze at many of the brew pubs and events this weekend-will be trying for sure.

i couldn’t even find those two when I was IN the CR Gorge area and Portland last year.

Dissident and Abyss are both annual releases. Once they come and go that’s it.

I believe the annual Black Butte (27 I think) release is rolling out or about to roll out so that’s something else to look for.

I keep trying to get Deschutes to admit Woody (the giant barrel on wheels) is a transformer but apparently it’s quite the secret.

Everything Deschutes touches turns to gold. They are one of the best brands in the country imo

Ya they are almost never in regular stores. I get them at Belmont Station or the brewery tap room.

On the pub crawl… This bar top is awesome… Spidered glass

I still miss Cleveland Beer Week, ending with Brewzilla!

Yes!

Not complete without an Irish stop

Looks like a hoot

Yes good times. Im trashed and must go to bed now …  Yes I’m old.

Well that didn’t take long, LOL! We would make good pub crawl buddies. Im usually done by sun down.

Same here. I still have fun, just not for near as long.  ;D

That’s what happens when you start at 4pm and with 8+% ABV beer…ooof

Been there - ouch.  Went out last night and had a few high gravity. Doesn’t take many nowadays.

Day 2 on the crawl…
