There is the title for your next brew book!
I’m just glad knowing I’m not the oldest fart here. 8) Though 50 is sneaking up fairly quickly.

Yeah, I’m firmly there. I resemble that. ;D
Right there with you Jon!

Jamil, the host of Brew Strong, tends to speak in absolutes as if he has the final word on all things home brew. Kudos to him for having the confidence in his opinions, but I find it off-putting.
If there’s one thing I’ve learned, it’s that the more I know about beer, the more I need to know more about beer.
I listened for a while, but I just got tired of the endless Jr. High humor.

That’s more like dad or nerd humor. His stuff sways more toward Beavis and Butthead.
This thread is the kind of conversation that needs to be experienced… in person… in a brew pub… ![]()
Funny you should say that. Based on conversations in another thread I just figured out that dilluh and I both live in Austin
I would basically have to rewrite most of my recipes if I removed Crystal 60. My porter, amber, bock, rye amber, and Oktoberfest all have it in it.
I would never use crystal 60! I ALWAYS go for crystal 59 or 61 ![]()

Hah! That is an awesome joke. I’d tell it to my science students, but I assure you that NONE of them would get it. A couple of the other teachers would though.
