I think you need to send me one of each so I can help make the determination. I sense high scores in your future ;D
Good luck. What beers did you enter?
Good luck! Looks like a good comp.
Yesterday was my first competition also, I entered 2 beers and a cider in the Bluebonnet in Dallas TX. I’m still waiting to get the call that I won best of show-any minute now.
Best of Luck!
Now that’s what I call true optimism :) Isn’t the Bluebonnet like about the biggest comp there is?
Good luck and don’t be too disappointed if you don’t do very well or the feedback looks it was written by a hallucinating junkie as most judges seem to leave feedback like that. Hope your beers will be judged by the rare lucid ones.
Cheers!
Entered a scottish 60/-, Barrel aged barley wine and rye ipa
Awesome, best of luck to you
I also just entered my first. How long does it usually take to know results? Then how long does it take actually receive your score sheets in the mail? On average.
Depends on the comp. Most of them post the results pretty quickly so if you’ve placed you should know it at least within a couple of days. As far as score sheets go, I’ve gotten them back within a week, and I’ve also waited up to five weeks. I’d say 2 weeks is about average.
Thanks tygo!
Good luck. I’ve got some headed to NHC and then I think I will give up on competitions.
Have you ever judged a flight category 19, Strong Ales in the morning? That will do that to you!
Nothing like barleywines for breakfast :o
Or speed-judjing a flight of 12 meads before the end of the competition because no one else will.
Now I know why.
