Drew and I have begun production of our podcast series. We’re taking questions via email until we get call in set up. If you have a question about beer, brewing, the meaning of life, or why Drew’s so weird, email us at questions@experimentalbrew.com
Awesome. Any idea on length and schedule?
Sounds great and I can’t wait. Then the voice inflections that I try to read into your posts and Drew’s posts (from memory of NHC presentations) will be unnecessary!
Very cool, Denny ! I’ll be listening.
It’s around an hour and will be available around every 2 weeks. Notice I say “around” a lot! It will be available via iTunes and other places.
Q. Dear Denny: Recently I made your Noti Brown recipe. I tweaked it by substituting Fuggles for all the hop additions, and used S-04 yeast. It tastes of bread, fruit, and dirt. What did I do wrong? Your friend, chumley.
Oh great, like the voices in my head weren’t enough.
That is pretty damn funny ! You could’ve added “And the recipe says my final gravity should be 1.014 and I finished at 1.013 - why is that ?” ;D
Awesome! I’m finally caught up on my brewing podcasts after listening to all the NHC presentations, so I can definitely use some new podcasts for my commute.
Any idea what your format is going to be? Will it be guests, Q&A, you guys presenting on topics? Looking forward to hearing you guys.
Bunch of different segments including (at the moment) - Beer News (required by law), 1 or 2 main content segments covering some topic either ingredients, design, recipe, experiments, etc, q&a from listeners (questions to questions@experimentalbrew.com), quick tips, our recommendations, yada yada yada.
Wait, huh? Required by law? Are you getting grant money for this? The world has really lost its mind if the government is regulating what two dudes talk about in a podcast…
Just Drew’s “humor”…
Why?
How dare you?
Who do you think you are?
Yeah, I tend to throw “required by law” around a lot whenever something seems to just be a thing you need to have to be official. For instance, in the next book, there’s a big long spiel in the super abbreviated “how to brew” chapter that basically lays out that the Federal law legalizing homebrewing mandated that all books about brewing beer have to include a primer on brewing beer.
I don’t know why it amuses me so - it just does.
Kind of unfair I think. They dont require that books about meth have a chapter on how to make meth… well, maybe they do. I haven’t read too many of those books, so… never mind.
Again - it’s all jokes, but man look at all the books out there they all have that chapter so consistently you would think it was actually required by law.
Exactly. You had me nearly convinced when I started thinking of brew books ive read.
Hey Denny, will I be able to get this on Apple’s podcasts when they’re ready?
Nice. I’m looking forward to hearing this.
Drew don’t give these state legislators any ideas to tack onto these laws … Gawd Almighty, they will mess with anything til it just don’t work no more. But, I agree that they all have the obligatory how to section.
