My Super Siphon has a small hole courtesy of a mouse. Would aquarium silicone suffice for repairing it, or is there something better? I’ve already ordered a new one, but this one would be fine if I could patch the hole.
I’d do it, I figure the stuff would kill the Hanta virus.
Silicone is silicone, and as I understand it is basically inert. However, there’s other stuff that goes in with it to color it and keep it liquid in the squeezy tube, and some of those will be solvents. I’d read the tube and see what else is in it.
Alterntively, take something hotter than the melting point (soldering iron or a flame) and melt it if you can. Not ideal, but maybe better than the chemicals.
The number of times that I have used the wet finger/smooth goop trick probably would 10 million times exceed what a little blob of it on your syphon would do to me… Goop on brother.
