General question about electric heating element

Hi all,

This isn’t a question about brewing, but I found this forum while searching for information about heating elements.

i have a clothes dryer made by Maytag called the “Neptune Dryer Center”.  It has a built-in drying cabinet that is heated by a small electric heating element.  This element is no longer manufactured by Maytag or it’s parent company (Whirlpool).

I’m looking for a company or person who could custom fabricate a replacement heating element.  I don’t know the specifications of the element, but it boils water in a small (4" x 7") water tray attached to it and (mildly) heats air before a small fan circulates the air inside the cabinet.  So it doesn’t get terribly hot.  I’m wondering if anyone has come across a company who might be able to “one-off” one of these elements.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Thanks

Ron

Google sears dryer parts and do some looking. Sears has parts for lots of name brand appliances going way back.

I worked for Sears in college and can attest to this. Search searspartsdirect.com.

Sorry folks, I wasn’t as clear as I should have been.

The part I am trying to clone is no longer manufactured by Maytag/Whirlpool.  It is not available from any parts suppliers.

I doubt you’ll find what you are seeking here my friend. Most of the heating elements discussed here will either be OEM parts for water heaters or production models just for brewing.

Try looking into dishwashers  some of them have the small element you might be looking for
