Good idea, or best idea

Say one has an unused bathtub in a second bathroom. What do you all think about electric indoor brewing over a bath tub? This is apartment brewing by the way. Access to water, drain, ventilation. Seems awesome to me.

Only downside I see is inviting people over for brewdays might be awkward.

For me, there were two challenges to going electric.

  1. running wire/outlets
  2. ventilation.
I’m not sure what size batches you brew, but my bathroom isn’t equipped to deal with steam from 6 gallon batches.

A lot better than brewing over a urinal.

id say its all about getting the setup aligned with electrical codes-nothing different than any bathroom.

There’s also a place to sit down.

This is the problem. You’ll need a beer fridge in that bathroom. And then it’ll become the most-used bathroom you have.

Dude, I have to go drop an Oud Bruin…

Well, I think I would have to decommission the use as a bathroom entirely.

The Loo Brew!

Ok, nobody flush… I’m mashing in

Is it a Golden Strong or a Nut Brown?

Now this is just corny.

That’s priceless. Just choked on coffee.

The second full bath in my house is my fermentation space. The bathtub houses several fermentors of aging/souring beer, there is a small fridge for temperature controlled fermentation and plenty of room for bottled beer waiting to be consumed.

It’s nice having access to counter space and a sink for cleaning but it’s a tight fit in there with the fridge and I don’t know that it would be easy to move equipment around during the brewday in there. Your bathroom might be larger than our guest bath but if it’s anything like the bathrooms in the apartments I ever rented then you’re lucky if you can fit a bathmat on the floor.
