goose island bourbon county stout

i never even drank one before but i have a 2019 in the fridge given to me as a gift, i’m gonna pop it on christmas eve but i’d love to hear your reviews on it, gotta be honest it has wacky stuff in it like granola/cherries so i can’t see myself liking it plus its like 14%, usually my abv cut off is 8.5-9% after that beer is too thick and sweet or boozy

I know there was a cherry variant this year or last but not sure it had granola in it? I could be wrong.

The vanilla and coffee variants tend to be good but honestly I think that beer is at its best in its basic format or some of the special barrel, non-adjunct versions. It may not be as great as it was pre-acquisition but still a very good barrel aged stout for its price.

From Goose Island’s website:
Mon Chéri Stout is made with Balenton and Montmorency cherries, brewed with oats and a dash of brown sugar creating aromas of amaretto and almond.

I had it on draft during the Black Friday release last year.  I got mostly cherry and vanilla from the flavor.  Definitely a dessert-like beer.  But I liked it a lot.
