Hey, did you guys know.....

That it’s a federal offense to take your own whiskey on an airplane? Neither did I.  :-\

Yeah, its an offense to consume any alcohol on board, that’s not provided by the airline.  Although I find the $7/drink more offensive!

oh geez weaze, so when do you get out? should we plan a big party in 10-20?

Since it’s illegal to make your own, I would assume that transporting it via airline would also be illegal.

Yeah, how’d you find this out?

Yep… and if you have more than seven days worth of food stockpiled… you can be detained and questioned as a terrorist, oh and you don’t get a lawyer either.  Hmmm… your own whiskey on a plane is a cakewalk, go ahead, live on the wild side… I dare ya.    ;)  8)  :-X

Laws on the books are one thing, but often times enforcement is another thing entirely.

As the saying goes, “It’s easier to get forgiveness than it is to get permission.”

Ya know if you buy meat birds or turkeys our uncle wants to know what you are doing, good thing they are all dead and I’m not farming them.

We are all about F the man! Exercise that right and brew your own!

Be mindful of the law, ignorance is not excuse.

The stewardess was pretty cool about it. She gave me a pretty stern lecture, the a minute later came over and asked me what I was drinking. TOld her whiskey, and braced myself for an air marshal to come over and put me in a choke hold. But, she came back, and slipped me two of those little 7$ bottle of Jack Daniels.  ;D

Forgiveness… Being good natured and contrite wil get you a whole lot further than being arrogant or contrary.

FWIW “Stewardess” is a bit of an insult these days.  The prefered title is flight attendant.

jeeze Barry, get some Cognac and don’t worry…

More reading…I don’t see alcohol…

Well that’s it then… no free Jack Daniels for you pal!

Doublely lucky you chose not to fly out to Denver!

Well that woulda been sweet, cause then my boy Ruben could have hooked me up with free drink tickets.  ;D

Kind of hard anyways these days with the 100 ml restriction. I, of course, have NEVER brought fermented potato juice in a small water bottle on an airplane… ::slight_smile:

Does it count if you take an empty water bottle into the airline lounge, fill it up with the complimentary alcohol (provided by the airline nonetheless) and chug that during the flight?

Perfectly appropriate.

wait a second, aren’t you FLYING the plane oscar? don’t tell me about your drinking!!!

As far as I can tell, the TSA never say you can’t bring alcohol on board.  The TSA only cares that you bring 3 oz. or less on in your carry on.

The AIRLINE wants to sell you cheap booze at hugely inflated prices so they want you to think you can’t bring alcohol on board.

What I use for mouthwash is up to me.  8^)

Eh, no big deal.  The planes fly themselves these days, right…
