Hi there – Chris P. Frey here. I am long time homebrewer and I am a local liaison for the American Homebrewers Associations National Homebrewers Conference sub-committee for the conference coming to Asheville, NC (https://homebrewersassociation.org/aha-events/homebrewcon/).
The AHA is bringing back HomebrewCon and has set the dates (June 19th & 20th). This is an AHA members event that has been sorely missed the past few years. If you weren’t aware, the AHA recently gained its independence from its parent organization, the Brewers Association. A lot has gone on to set up a new structure for the AHA. But with its new found independence came the decision to bring back the conference.
I know there are a lot of questions floating out there, but be patient. What can you do now? First, make sure you are an active member of the AHA so that you get timely information when it is released and worry less about FOMO.
If you are a member of a homebrew club, light up your burners and start making homebrews to share during Club Night and for hospitality shifts at the Expo. If you haven’t attended a Club Night before, this is the most fun event of the conference! Clubs bring their tap systems, beers and many of them have themes, ranging from wacky outfits, types of homebrews, inspired booth designs…or just a club sign – it’s up to you.
I highly recommend that you consider extending your stay on the shoulders of this event and enjoy the offering of Asheville, NC. Voted “Beer City four times, Asheville has a vibrant beer culture, with many breweries walking distance to the conference location and many others within the area, along with a great variety of art galleries, restaurants, the Blue Ridge Parkway, national forests, The Biltmore Estate, beer tours and more. While Hurricane Helene walloped the area, it has come back strong and is open for business. So, enjoy the rising Phoenix of both HomebrewCon and Asheville.
Looking forward to seeing some old friends and making new ones.
One of the exciting parts of being at HomeBrew Con is feeling the tension and joy as NHC winners are announced!!Don’t miss out on participating in the NHC.
Registration for the 2026 National Homebrew Competition closes Feb. 25 at 8:00 a.m. MT.
If you’re judging and conference then that’s 4 days taken up. I’d suggest at least being here a week, especially if you have particular breweries or destinations you want to visit.
Registration is open! Check the main site. I have just registered. Very smooth except I selected the Club Night guest pass and it did not appear to go through. I can’t believe all 200 social passes have sold out already.
