Hop Storage (Whole Cone)

Is it best to store hops in the freezer? How long will they last?
I have a years supply right now!

Okay…Google is your friend! It looks like hops will last a couple years in the freezer, with zero O2 exposure.

Vacuum sealed in the freezer.  For an idea of how long they’ll last (generally a few years) check the HSI for the hops.

Thanks! We over ordered…oh well, lots of beer to brew!

Get a vacuum sealer and keep in the freezer. They can last for years.

Vacuum sealed in the freezer.  Wait, did somebody say that already?  ;D

Pellets last longer.  That said, you should be fine for a year vacuum sealed in the freezer.

THIS^^^^^ one of the reasons I switched to pellets

Yes, pellets last longer. But the benefits we experience using whole cone hops far outweigh any storage advantage with pellets. It is just personal choice, and we choose whole cone!

Our hops are all sealed in O2 free bags in the freezer. Should keep well.
