Hoppy red ale

Here is a recipe I am thinking of trying for a hoppy red ale.  Any suggestions, input?

Recipe is for ten gallons

14 lbs 2 row
5 lbs munich
1.5 lbs wheat
2  lbs cyrstal 20
1  lb crystal 120
6 oz. roasted barley during vorlauf

1 oz. chinook FWH
1.5 oz chinook 60 min
1 oz. cascade 30
1 oz. cascade 10
1 oz. cascade 5
2 oz. Centennial dry hop secondary 7 days

Safale 05 yeast

mashed at 152

OG 1.066
IBU ~62

So, where are the hops?  JK, but I would use Centennial or Cascade for the FWH myself and maybe bump up you 5 minute to 2 oz. and remove the 30 min.  I have found that 30 min additions don’t really do much for hoppiness.

Thanks, the FWH was supposed to be cascade, I guess I got my eyes crossed while typing it in.  :o

What do you think about upping the FWH to 2 oz. and dropping the 30 minute?

May be worthwile to look into Jamil’s West Coast Blaster or Evil Twin recipe?  Both are fantastic.  I don’t believe either have a dry hop addition, but you always have that option

That’s a better option IMO.

Another option to consider is moving your 10 an 1 minute additions to flameout. You’ll get more hoppiness with a flameout addition.

So here is what I brewed on Saturday
10 Gallon batch

14# 2 row
6# Munich
2# Victory
2# Crystal 40
1# Crystal 120
4 oz. Chocolate added at vorlauf

2 oz. Cascades FWH
2 oz. Magnum 60 min.
2 oz. Cascades 5 min.
2 oz. Centennial 5 min.
2 oz. Cascades 0 min.
2 oz. Centennial 0 min.

Both flame out additions were allowed to sit in the wort until temp came down to about 160.

Measured OG. 1.070
Looking forward to trying and then tweaking.
