This was an idea from another thread. How many of the 50 states have you visited? I have no real criteria for a visit, other than not an airport. I have at least had my feet on the ground or sat down for a cup of coffee.muse your own score card.
Some were for work. A couple were as a kid on family vacation. Some were for outdoor adventures. Many were for beer tourism.
48/50 for me. Missing Rhode Island (small target) and Hawaii. We have some reasons to visit both, so someday I can then say all 50.
Only 22 for me. This is one of the things I like about NHC…going places I’ve never been before. I just checked off California last week with the family on vacation. Spent Sunday walking between Toolbox, Latitude 33, Belching Beaver and Iron Fist Brewery.
I’d have to check my list for the exact count, but something in the neighborhood of 28-32.
Grew up on the East coast, so everything south of Pennsylvania including Gulf Coast. Picked up some midwest in my travels (Michigan, Ohio, Wisconsin) Then drove cross country to Oregon and picked up quite a few on the way Missouri, Iowa, Nebraska, Wyoming, Utah, Idaho. Then the whole west coast Washington and California shortly after I moved out here. Now that I live on the West coast hope to pick up Alaska and/or Hawaii fairly soon.
I want to hit all 50 but I have a hard time finding a reason to visit North Dakota.
22 here. I’m not counting Washington yet. Even though I technically left the airport, it was just to transport to the cruise ship.
At some point when my son is older (like high school age), I want to take a leave from work one summer and drive through all 48 of the lower states. That’s been a bucket list of mine. If I can’t get more than a few weeks, then the next best would be to drive all of Route 1 from Maine down to Key West, stopping in each state for at least one night.
A few more if I would count a trip to USMA in NY with my family for an older brothers graduation. I don’t think sleeping in a car all the way across a state as “having been to” that state.
All except Hawaii, Alaska, Nebraska and S. Dakota. I was in Hawaii on the way to Australia, but was kept in quarantine at the airport so it doesn’t count.
In 1970 I hitchhiked around the perimeter of the U.S. Quite a few states on that trip. Or should I say, “what a long, strange trip that was”
