My daughter turned 18 this past Sunday and it just hit me that I started brewing shortly after she was born.
It doesn’t seem like 18 years have gone by (either for the hobby or the kids). Both journeys have been a blast and I’m looking forward to the temps dropping and getting the brewing season started again. It will be a busy Spring with a high school and a college graduation!
Thanks to you all for all your advice, knowledge and support over the years.
Congrats on the brewing milestone, surviving the teenage years (I know, still a couple to go ) and the upcoming graduations. Homebrew for the college grads…homebrew soda for the high school?
I’m working on my brewing being legally able to buy beer (I’ll hit 21 years in May). I really stopped counting a while back. Switching to 10 gallon batches a couple years ago cut my batch count per year way down, though.
My youngest daughter bought me a “2 bucket” homebrewing kits plus a True Brew beer kit for Christmas 14 years ago. Homebrewing, up to that point, had never crossed my mind. I remember peeling off the Christmas paper wrapping and opening the box and thinking “what the hell am I going to do with this”?
But here I am 14 years later, many $ in additional equipment and BJCP Certified. Who knew, not me, that’s for sure!
