Is anyone using an Inkbird fridge controller?

Looks like my old manual Johnson controller is on the fritz. I see this Inkbird digital jobbie for $36 and yes that sounds cheap/inexpensive to me. Curious if anyone else is using one and what your findings are. Cheers and thanks.

I’ve used this exact model for nearly 10 years, and it has worked reliably for me without replacement ever since (in fact, now I have two). The temperature probe is pretty accurate (I always tape it to the side of my fermenter when in active fermentation, with a cloth over that, to ensure measurements that best represent the fermenter versus the chest freezer), and it’s easy to change temperature settings, too.

Beautiful, thank you for that. I have been making some lagers this spring and I have the fridge in a room on the lowest level of my townhouse and it’s cool in there, no doubt. But if I have my Johnson controller in place and I dial it down to 50°, it does not kick in. If I go lower (~45) it kicks in. It’s not 45° in this room so the controller is either losing it or needs some kind of calibration which I don’t know how to do. I’m sure the beers have fermented just fine because it probably is in the 50s in there. Thanks again, brother. Appreciated.

I think that’s the model I use. Worked reliably for years.

Guys, thank you. Transaction in progress.

yes, i use this one. it seems pretty good, very simple and hands off. i think there is a bluetooth or wifi version of this you can check using your phone for a tiny price increase too

Been using one as well. As much as I hate Chinese knock these work well

I have an Inkbird that looks like that same model that has worked perfectly for at least 10 years. I’ve also been using a Turbro TC01 for something like 2 or 3 years that works great as well

I also use that model — have for about 8-9 years! I love it! Works great!

I currently have a lager fermenting and when I feel the fermenter it seems “cool” but not as cool as I would think. It’s in [what amounts to] a basement closet. To my dismay it’s 14° here on St. Patrick’s day in Chicagoland so that room is cool. Yesterday I went to the Johnson and turned it down until it kicked in. The temp on the dial was between 30° and 40° which is clearly not right .. it’s not even close. I think the beer will be fine but I’m happy to be moving to the new controller especially with warmer weather around the corner. Thanks again to all .. happy to hear this new toy will work well. Cheers Beerheads.

Though I have a different brand, I find the WiFi feature is a great addition. I can ramp up temp when the Tilt tells me regardless of my location.

I used that exact model for almost a decade with no problem - until last month. The relay for the cooling circuit stuck in the on position. The display would show that it was in heating mode and my aquarium heating pad inside the fridge was heating, but the refrigerator was still running. The refrigerator won the battle and the temp kept dropping below the set point.

I replaced it with the exact same unit. If I get another decade out of a $35 controller, I’m happy.
