Kegerator looks great. I hate when people call them keezers though! Someone else pointed out that it sounds like it’s old burnt out rockers or something…haha.
Thanks guys… and it is fully functional. The wood is Sapele, and African hardwood that reminds me of mahogany with stripes.

Curious about cool & creative ideas you guys have seen for labelling the taps.
I really want to get a couple of the chalk board walnut tap handles. I think those are super neato. Right now I have a couple Millstream brewing (out of Amana, IA) ceramic tap handles. They’re pretty nice, but I have no way of labeling which beer is which except for “light” and “dark”, because one of them says “Maifest” and the other “Colony Oatmeal Stout”.
No offense but the part you built looks so much better than the rest of the freezer.
Has anyone ever tried painting one of these with something to duplicate a wood grain finish? The wood and taps look fantastic but the freezer needs something to pull it all together in my opinion. I like the look of the wood clad ones but I’m not ready to take on that much work right now.

Thanks and none taken! Yeah, the white is a bit stark but hey, it chills and serves my beer. I think the addition of a drip tray large enough to accomodate the four taps and pint glasses below will soften the look some. Throw some rails and cork on the lid and maybe she’ll be ready to take to the dance.
You can always cover it with .25" finished plywood. Make sure you don’t seal up the vents and stain it the same as you collar and it looks built-in.
I went cheap on tap labels. I print business card sized labels and use magnets made for business card advertising to stick them to the top of the beer cooler behind the handles. When the keg gets changed I just pull off the right magnet and grab the next one from the breaker box on the wall above the cooler.

Oh man, I’m really like the magnetic business card sized dry erase label idea! But; I am done with the carpentry for a while and putting my brewers cap back on… gearing up for my first all grain. Can’t wait!
