Keggarator

I painted the top of my keggarator in chalk board paint.

Now I can post what is available on each tap.

Very nice work and great idea!

Be sure to prime the chalk board or else it will be near impossible to get it clean. Can’t tell in the picture if you did.

Awesome idea though. I’ve seen plenty with the paint on the front, but on the top make so much more sense.

That’s a great idea. A lot better than my hanging tags.

Nice idea!

I used business card magnets, since no one can read my handwriting 8^) ).  I create a business card sized label for each recipe, print them on Avery Label card stock and use self adhesive magnets (available at office supply stores).  Then I can just switch out the magnet when I replace a beer on tap.

I did the same thing…works great.  I’ll write the beer style, when it was kegged and any additional items like dry hop in keg, etc.

Sometimes when I’m cleaning though, I’ll get some spray on it and have to rewrite the whole thing.

My wife got a hold of the chalk and this is the message she left me. For those that don’t get the reference it is an adaptation of a line from her favorite Loudon Wainwright song “White Winos”.

I have seen this on a wall at a new brewery in town, but didn’t know it was something I could buy at the store until I just looked it up now. THanks!

Can you explain this a bit more?  I’m thinking of doing somehting like this for the door of our fermenting room, but want to make sure the chalkboard works right.

The directions should be on the can, but basically take the side of the chalk and rub the entire board, erase, and write. This will apply a layer of chalk to fill any gaps. Without doing this, the writing applied may get stuck in those gaps and not wipe off.
