Just picked up a 6 of this and it was darn tasty, good mouthfeel too, quite silky, but if it had one problem it seemed alittle too over-carbonated for a stout.
I’ve been drinking this one for years. Its a really good beer. It may be over carb’d on the bottle but when you see it on draft it is usually poured with nitro. Love this beer. One of my favorite stouts.
Left Hand Milk Stout is an old favorite of mine, but it’s been a long time since I had one. I’ve already bought the ingredients to make an Oatmeal Milk Stout of my own, although I might wait a little before I make as I about 12 gallons of homebrew already in my basement. I very excited to see how it will come out once I do brew it.
I had this, I am pretty sure it was this, about 5 years ago as the base for a ice cream float. Vanilla ice cream (although I prefer coffee ice cream in stout floats) it was tasty.
I had this for the first time at a festival a couple of years ago. It’s one of the beers that stood out to me out of all the beers we tried that day. I’ve recently seen sixers on the shelves here but I haven’t gotten around to grabbing one yet.
yeah, stout floats are yummy. I also like to take about half a pint of old rasputin or similar RIS and make a milkshake with vanilla or coffee icecream.
This is definitely one of my favorite milk stouts, and I think probably Left Hands best (although they have come out with some pretty good new brews in the last couple of years).
I really love this beer when served on nitro. Had it not to long ago at a craft beer bar and restaurant as a cocktail mixed with Leopold Bros. Blackberry liqueur. It was quite delicious.
vorlauf - from what I can make out, that is a HELL of a draft selection!
LHMS is a great beer - I drew up a pretty darn close clone a few years back if anyone is interested. Its been a while - might need to brew it myself soon as well…
They have 18 rotating craft beers on tap and I think usually a little over 100 bottles. Their food is amazing too. It’s a great thing to live in Denver! ;D

I’d use Magnum instead of NB, but I think I was out of Magnum when I formulated this.
Yes, I realize the ingredients are a bit different than the website lists, and it has some slight differences in the final outcome vs. the real deal, but its pretty darn close, IMO.
This is an excellent candidate for late mash addition of the roasted grains.
