**Update:Mans Milk Milk stout by Noble ale works in southern Ca

Hi

I was wondering does any body have a clone of this or maybe how to formulate this Milk stout.

If you haven t had it… Its awesome!!!

I had it abut a yr ago… was chocolaty, creamy, and  smooth due to Nitro, I dont remember any hard roast flavors…

Im thinking  5.5  gallon batch recipe

Pale malt 2 row
Dark Munich (maybe)
carastan malt (love this stuff) or if you make me 60 crystal  :o :stuck_out_tongue:
Pale chocolate malt or  regular chocolate malt
carafa II/ III
flaked oats for the creaminess
1 lb lactose for 5.5 galons

Im not sure if were suppossed to talk about clones or the brewerys on here so forgive me if I have tresspassed…LOL

Man’s Milk?!  :o :o :o

My thoughts exactly!
but no issues with discussing possible clone/tribute/inspired by brews

just spit my whiskey…worst name ever for a beer.  ;D

;D    Yeah. Unfortunate name.

If you met the guys over there, you’d understand. They’re a bunch of goofballs, but they make really great beer. They’re Golden Milk Stout with Coffee, Naughty Sauce, is delicious.

Im sure its good…but WTH…next is Poo-Poo Porter or Schweddy Balls Pils  :o

;D ;D

Funny name I agree… kinda odd ordering it…LOL let me have some mans milk…

They should’a named it  “mama’s milk”…    border line Human resources sexual harassment training…LOL
Just went thru 2 hrs state of CA mandated…so i now…  ::slight_smile:

I always lead with “have you emailed the brewery?”

Steve,

I did this morning… hoping to get a faster input from everyone here… …

quick question:
what does an English Pale ale fall under…

English bitter…etc… standard ordinary bitter?  I looked at Bcjp 2015… i couldnt find it

On my brew software: Brewers friend
I selected PRE-2015 BCJP  becuase its not in the new guidelines  brewers Friend has the New Guideline styles incorporated… but as I said not in their

So I selected pre 2015
1A-  English Bitter
1B - Standard best Bitter

BUGU ratio .74  Bittering level

By the way How you been… hope your good

I was always under the assumption that bitter, strong bitter and extra strong bitter (ESB) were all versions of English Pale Ale but I most frequently associate ESB as being an English Pale Ale.

well I went back in and selected,  kinda confusing … or its just me…  :o
New Guidelines My current style selection for my recipe
11. - British Bitter
11B - Best Bitter

Pre-2015

  1. English Pale Ale
    8B - Special/Best/Premium Bitter

Just curious…what does English Pale Ale style guidelines have to do with a Milk Stout?

Nothing to answer your question;  I saw that SteveTx responded to  Milk stout so I  changed topics… as I was just saying hello and asked a question…

should have put it in its own topic posting… keep it clean and organized…

No that’s fine sorry I thought maybe an email from the brewery left you guessing what category to place this in or maybe you meant to ask what was “English Pale Ale Malt”. I was thinking something else.

No worries and good afternoon Porterhaus
I’m like a kid waiting to hear something from their brewery regarding the “Man’s Milk” LoL

Good evening as well. I’m anxious to hear what info they have to share. Please post back.

I will… def. will post their response…

Well here’s my recipe for milk Stout
Cheweybakas Milk Stout

I had 1lb of flaked Barley to add creaminess but I dropped it…simplify and thinking the lactose will add that creaminess body…  Should i add the flaked Barley back?
