I have never used Loral hops and just bought some. I would like some advice.
Should I use them alone or mix with other hops?
I was thinking of using them in a single hop blonde or pale ale. Thoughts?

This isn’t much of an answer.
I’ve used them a few times as late hop additions and found them very floral, not as much citrus. Pretty sure the crop year was '22
Were I to use them again it would probably be as part of a mixed hop beer.
Agreed on the floral nature. I used them alone in a Smash ale and liked them, but they really worked nicely as a late hop addition/whirlpool/dry hop in the powdered Cryo format, using a citrusy companion late hop or late hop addition alone after a standard bittering hop used up front in the early boil.
Maybe I’ll make a Pilsner. Apparently, Loral is said to be a super noble hop.
I made a pils with them, was really good. I don’t think it’ll work on a pale ale.
I made a Kellerbier based on information from this article and it turned out great! Loral has quickly become one of my favorite hops!
Thanks! I will probably try that one. I loved the Kellerbier when I visited Germany.
This is the recipe I came up with. Feel free to modify as necessary. I would switch out the 2 row for pilsner but that’s what I had on hand at the time.
