I have been roasting a lot of grain at home and was wondering if there is a good color chart for lovibond? I can locate them for beer but not for grain. Is it the same chart? It would save me a lot of trips to the brew shop to compair colors and help me from over shooting the mark from time to time.
sounds like a project. buy a 1/2 pound of a bunch of malts, photograph, catalog then you would be set. post when complete ;D

Yeah, AFAIK.
IIRC there’s some samples inside the front cover of John Palmer’s book. Also I have an iPhone app called BrewMath that has a color sampler in it, but it doesn’t reflect copper tones. Still a good indication though.
