Membership Renewal

I just renewed my membership for another year, but I was wondering why there was not an option to renew for multiple years like in the past. It was nice to just renew and forget about it for a while.

I was on the fence about renewing my membership. I’ve been brewing for just over a year and a member for almost a year. I decided to renew just to see what happens in the next year with the magazine and the association.

I was looking for the three-year renewal option as well, but now I’m wondering if the plan to move to a 501c3 has the staff and governance folks thinking that there may be changes in the structure to membership dues/revenue that multi-year renewals would complicate. Either way I plan to renew.

For those wondering about the 3 year option, the membership options have been streamlined to facilitate a smooth transfer to the new management structure. Those membership options as well as others, may return in 2026.

I was looking to do the same thing (three years) and called the AHA about this. they told me that they had discontinued the multiple year memberships (I assume temporarily) while they were reorganizing the AHA. Hopefully they will bring it back. They also did away with life memberships and I think that is permanent

We’ll find out about that in a couple of weeks, but also important to note that AFAIK already purchased lifetime memberships will be honored.

Yes, Drew. I was told that the existing lifetime memberships will be grandfathered but no new ones will be accepted.

As a lifetime member, I’m glad it will be honored.

Thanks for all your replies, which confirmed that I’m not just getting old and technologically deficient.
