Need advice to keep lager in cooler temps

Hello gang!

I need some advice on how to keep my lager in cooler temps.  I racked my lager a few days ago into a second fermenter.  I don’t have a refrigerator to keep the lager to optimum temps.  I have been using a towel and ice packs to drive the temps down.  I am having a hard time getting it below 62 degrees.  Any ideas or advice?  Much appreciated!

Welcome to the forum.  You can build an inexpensive foam insulated box pretty easily or look into these insulated bags:

I find that they work very well.

Cheers!  By the way - secondary for any beers are pretty much unnecessary.  Just keep them in the primary until final packaging.  Less fuss and likelihood of infection or oxidation…Best of luck with your beer!

Thanks!  I’ll check the MoreBeers website.

Paired with a couple 2 liter frozen water bottles, they work incredibly well.

I know of few of the local breweries. I ask them if they have space to spare in their refrigerator. They usually do and are very accommodating. By the way, I lager my beer in a purged keg. I also mark my keg with my name and phone number.

How deep are your pockets? Not trying to be a turd but I have a few ideas and it would help to know.

Some lager yeasts give good results in the low 60s.

No, deep pockets here.  I just ordered an insulation cooler bag.

Yikes! That is illegal and if they get raided by the TTB they could face serious fines or even closure. Most likely it is not only federally illegal but probably locally too.
