never re-used yeast before ?

This coming weekend I was thinking of using the yeast cake from a 1.053 citra smash ipa on a barleywine i will be brewing. I brewed the ipa last weekend, yeast is us05 and I have not dry-hopped the ipa yet. Do I just transfer all of the ipa off the yeast cake, then when the barleywine is all aerated and ready, just dump the barleywine on top of the yeast? Or is it better to put the yeast in a clean pail? Any other advice? Thanks in advance!

no just a portion of the slurry.

use this to determine amount.  Mrmalty.com

174 ml, so about 3/4 cup. I didn’t know mrmalty had the slurry calculator, thanks!

Neither did I. It looks like I way overpitched for my latest black lager.

an overpitch in lager is less of a concern IMO. cold fermentation requires good amount of healthy yeast for good results.

Agreed.
