New modular kegs from Northern Brewer

Mildly neat idea, insane price point.

Yeah, thats for sure. Nice in some respects but definitely on the high end of the price spectrum!

With new cornies going for $100+, it doesn’t seem that far out of line. Definitely a niche product though - how many people brew both 1 gal and 5 gal batches? An extension kit to make it a 2.5 gal seems more logical to me.

You’re better off waiting for someone like AiH to run a sale on new kegs and buy multiple kegs in the $80 or less price range.

Yeah ,my thoughts, too.  A couple brand new kegs would be cheaper. And playing devil’s advocate, I wonder how well the seals hold up over time with the extender in. Sort of cool, but I’ll pass.

Like they have going on right now.  I just picked up four 2.5 gallon ones.

I don’t have trouble cleaning my current kegs with Marks Keg and Carboy Washer. So the dishwasher feature seems over kill.

My kegs have a pretty big mouth already.

The modular feature solves a problem I don’t have. Far better to buy one small and one large keg.

The coolest feature on the NB keg is the hook welded inside to hold a  sack of fruit or hops.

maybe that is geared toward the new countertop brewsystems?  seems like a lot of money, but I do like the new look.

Must… not… buy… more… kegs…

+1

I’m about to head over there to check it out now…

But, most of my small kegs are empty so I don’t need any.  Right?

Wait until the after Xmas clearance sale; I don’t see a lot of them selling at that price.

I guess we’re all alike. I always have to stop myself when I see brand new kegs going for $75. I think, that’s such a good price, and it’ll never be that cheap ever again. But, I have to talk myself out of it. I have 11 kegs; where would I put any more–modular or whatever.

Now these are sweet. Doesn’t list the dimensions. Shooting them an email now.

Ok, I hadn’t seen these. Damn, I like these and I really like the price for that design. I want to buy 2 or 3, but I have 17-ish 5 gallon kegs - can’t justify. But I don’t have any 2.5s, which I would like. Hmmmmmm…

I’d be willing to sell my current kegs if the width is 8.5" or less. For sure a no deal if I can’t fit the same amount in my keezer.

I use kegerators, so stacking 5 gallon kegs isn’t an option. But stacking 2.5s would be, dimensions permitting. These are nice !

Yeah, stacking a couple of 2.5s while both are pouring would be sweet.

Man, I’m picturing even more beers on tap. I can add a couple more faucets, but I can use cobras where tap space is tight. Stackable with the QDs on is a really great idea.
