The Virginia Craft Brewers Guild (VCBG) is proud to share an exciting new opportunity for Virginia’s homebrewing community.
We recently launched the Professional–Amateur (Pro-Am) category for the 2026 Virginia Craft Beer Cup, the Commonwealth’s premier craft beer competition. This addition to the Guild’s annual competition celebrates th
e dynamic partnership between Virginia’s professional craft brewers and the state’s passionate amateur homebrewers.
For this competition, teams comprised of a licensed Virginia brewery and an amateur brewer based in the Commonwealth may collaborate to brew and submit a unique beer for a chance to win top honors in the Cup. It’s a great opportunity for you to work side-by-side with a professional brewery and showcase your creativity on a larger stage!

Entry registration is open now and closes on Friday, May 15, so connect with a licensed VA brewery to form a Pro-Am team ASAP!

Entries will be tasted by respected industry personnel and BJCP-certified judges.

Category medalists and the Pro-Am winner will be announced at the Virginia Craft Beer Summit & Gala and Virginia Craft Beer Cup Awards Ceremony on Monday, August 10.
