That 1991 Manchester, NH always cracks me up. But back then I was working Night Audit in VT and drinking Michelob Light. I work in Manchester now ( and drink better beer ) and live just south of here. The Verizon Wireless is about the only place big enough now but not much for hotels around, and none attached.
Maybe Boston one day but it won’t be cheap I can tell you. Too bad too, since the Hynes Convention Center has 3 major hotels connected to it ( Sheraton, Marriott, & Westin ) so you never need to go outside.
What??? There was a conference in Milwaukee in '92? And I had just started homebrewing and missed it. ;D
I’ve only been to Minneapolis in '10 and now Seattle in '12. Glad I caught the “nearly sold out” Tweet as I also reserved a hotel room right away and thought I’d have plenty of time to actually commit some cash to it. Apparently Twitter is useful after all.
I was thinking about that…we should try it again. Maybe set a time to all invade the hospitality suite? Hmmm, perhaps we should start a new topic about this.
Hey, as we say here about hula dancers’ hands telling the story, “You watch (view) the parts you like, and I’ll watch the parts I like.”
Get it? Belle view… ;)
(it’s a Southern thing)
+1 on the forum gathering. On my registration, for the Club/Company entry I put “Forum name Punatic.” Perhaps there may be some way of identifying forum participants on their conference ID badges? If this is not possible via the NHC badge printer, maybe something we make up ourselves? Hell, we could even have a secret handshake!
I had a dream about being at NHC… had a blast. One of the best things about it was that when we checked in we received t-shirts with our forum avatars on them! It was so cool to be able to spot people that you “recognized” and introduce yourself. OK, maybe I’m a little too excited for my first NHC and maybe the t-shirts are a bit much. But hey, what about ID’s with our forum avatars on them?
In my dream I was on a mission to find “David St. Hubbins”… his Chanterelle Shroombeer turned out fantastic!
