Postdoc Brewing

I was in Seattle this week, so I thought I’d look up our old friend Tom Schmidlin at Postdoc Brewing (http://www.postdocbrewing.com/) to see how his new project is coming along.  He said he is just a few weeks away from starting production!

Here are a couple of pics:

The above is where the taproom/retail center will be.  The bar area on the left wall, restrooms in the back and tables everywhere else.

Above here is the 15 bbl MT & BK.

Below is Tom with the fermenters in the background.

I’m looking forward to tasting some of his beer.

Good ol’ Tom! Congratulations, buddy! I saw this on the book of faces a few days back. Really excited for him. Really, really excited to come out for a visit.

Wow, that’s a lot bigger than I was thinking. Way to go Tom.

Tenure Track Tripel? Sorry, couldn’t help myself on that one. ;D

Tons of room! That will quickly be filled up, no doubt. Thanks for the update Steve

Awesome. Congrats Tom !

Very Nice!

That will a stop on our next PNW trip.

Love the name, postdoc. I hope he can still do some science in the brewery.

Yay Tom!!  Good to see this glad for you.  Best of adventures to you.  hope you still
have some time for the science side of the equation as well.

Awesome!  Best of luck to you, Tom!

I figured I would post this, as Tom is too busy running beer lines, but we (I was hired on as the sales manager) open our taproom tomorrow, come hell or high water. If you are in the area, or want to drive all the way out to Redmond, swing on by. We will be open 3-12 tomorrow, 12-12 Saturday, and 12-8 Sunday.

Saw that on the book of face that you were hired, and that Postdoc passed all inspections and would be open.

Congrats to Tom on getting open, and you for getting hired Marc.

Great news. Congrats and good luck.

Wow, super. Missed this the first time around.  Fun to see what the tschmidler is up to.

Congrats on your new job!  Getting paid for posting…err marketing. ;D

fist bump to you marc congrats

A friend and I visited Postdoc last weekend and came away really impressed. I’ve been to every local brewery within 2 or 3 weeks of their opening and Postdoc represented themselves very well. It stood out with the best of them. The majority of these new breweries I haven’t bothered to go back to, but will definitely revisit Postdoc. Be sure to talk to their beertender. He’s a homebrewer who brews, to put it quite frankly, some crazy ass shit.

I’m glad he got it going pretty quickly. There is a small brewpub less than a mile from my house that has had an “Open soon” sign up for over a year.
It’s been over 13 years since I’ve lived within walking distance of a brewpub, but I’m kind of losing hope on this one.

Takes time. Licensing, permits, trademarks, unexpected construction SNAFUs. It certainly is a one step forward, two steps back game.

I’m thinking it must be something else as 2 or 3 others that started after it opened up in the first part of 2014.
