I’m trying to find a good recipe calculation software for Macintosh computers. Can anyone recommend a really good one?
I think I’ve at least tried them all. BeerTools Pro is by far my favorite.
BeerTools Pro. I’ve been using it for years on my Mac. Great app. They have a demo version. Check it out at beertools.com.
I use Beer Alchemy. I like it, and if you have an iPhone you can sync it.
I like BeerAlchemy. Does exactly what I need it to do recipe and inventory-wise. Exports and imports recipes from other programs via BeerXML. Not a bad program with a “sister” program on the iPhone. Integration between the two is nice.
The author is currently updating BeerSmith and the new version (soon) will run on Mac too.
I use and like BeerTools Pro.
Hehehe… I usually go for the ones that were written by the mac dude to begin with…
Mac since 1982…
While it has it’s limitations I really like Homebrew Formulator. Mainly because out of all the software I have tried it is the least complicated and fastest software to design a recipe. I even use it for my nano brewery recipe formulations. A big plus: it’s FREE! search “Homebrew Formulator” and give it a try before you pay for one.
I’ve been using BeerTools Pro for a long time. I like the online brew builder, which can save a recipe to be downloaded to your computer , as well as other online resources.
I just downloaded Homebrew Formulator to give it a try and will definitely look at BeerSmith when Brad comes out with a Mac Version.
Brewmaster’s Warehouse website has a Brew Builder http://www.brewmasterswarehouse.com/brew-builder. There you can formulate a recipe and order the ingredients right on the site.
I’ve been very happy with Beer Tools Pro.
I have been using BrewTarget.

It has been working well for me.
Beer Tools Pro has been my choice for many years.
