Recommendations for French hops

So I’m thinking about branching out a bit on the hops in my Francobelgian-y farmhouse-y ales. I’ve done Strisselspalt several times and Styrian Goldings. But YVH has several French hops listed. Anybody got experience with Aramis, Mistral, Triskel, Elixer, or Barbe Rouge?

Aramis used to be easier to find. It’s like a smoother sterling with brighter lemon character. Nice hop for saisons, summer beers, etc. where you’re looking for refreshing fruit flavor but not the aggressive flavor of typical IPA hops.

Heyo! I recently brewed a French Pils with the world-famous Julia Herz. We used a 100% base of French barley, JeHanne D’Arc barley from Prairie (Prairie Malt | Les Maltiers Jehanne D'Arc Pilsen), and a 33% blend of French hops: Strisslespalt, Triskel, and Barbe Rouge that we snagged from Yakima Valley. We used neutral lager yeast and medium-handed dry hops of that same blend. It was a fruity/grassy combo overall. It was approachable and not like most hoppy German-style pils. Ironically last night, I scooped up a French Pils from BlackStack Brewing; pretty damn spot on to the beer we brewed. Give it a shot and have some fun!

Yeah, I’m particularly intrigued by:

a robust and complex hop that offers unique aromas of cognac, leather, and tobacco that are backed by sweet citrus fruits as well rose and lovage.

And by how that might interplay with some Brett leather.
