San Francisco lager yeast in other types of lagers

Has anyone ever used San Francisco Lager yeast (WLP 810) in any other types of lagers like a German pilsner, Helles, etc? Any issues with esters or other off flavors? Can it ferment at 50F?

i used it for a vienna lager a while back and it turned out okay.  i let it get a little warmer than i meant too and noticed that but otherwise okay…

WLP 810 SF lager yeast ferments malty, clean, and with no problem down at 47-50F. I’ve used this yeast strain on many lagers, and Marzen type, and specialty winter holiday lagers.  It can mesh well with hoppy lager recipes. It’s a solid SF lager yeast strain that can ferments dry if needed and some what malty.  I’ve never used this yeast strain for ales, and never fermented over 55F, so can’t really comment on that.

Babalu87 has always raved about this yeast for a Baltic Porter.  I use 830 in mine since I always have that around, but that would be cool to try IMO.

WLP 810 is a good yeast.
I fermented with it at 58F without noticeable esters.
You should be able ferment with it in 50F.
