The National Weather Service is predicting the path of Sandy to go pretty much right over the brewery. Of course these things change, but the Delmarva pennisula looks to get hit pretty hard.
Stay safe Ron and all our East Coast folks. Hopefully it’s not a repeat of what happened in New England last year, especially Vermont with Irene.
This is shaping up to be a bad one- like the perfect storm but over land!

Since my company is one of the top 5 major suppliers to the North Amerian electrical utility market, I expect next week to be very busy.
I’m watching the path of this one very closely. This is predicted to be worse than Irene that went over us last year. The winds from Irene were pretty bad. I was a pretty scared. I’m concerned knowing this has potential to be the “perfect storm”. They sure are hyping it up. Stay tuned.
Stay safe folks. Make sure to but a couple extra bags of rice, beans, a few cans of sardines and a couple extra bottles of whiskey. And make sure that spare Co2 tank is full and you will ride this thing out fine.

If I were you guys I’d be filling my empty kegs, carboys, and kettles with clean drinking water, making sure my propane tanks were topped up, and putting away food like major suggests. Sleep downstairs on the opposite side of the house from the expected wind direction, on the floor next to a couch with water, a flashlight, and a fully charged cell phone in easy reach. Be over prepared - some of your neighbors probably won’t be.
Yep, I’ve got all of the empty kegs and carboys filled with water. Lots of batteries and food. Filled up the chest freezer that’s usually my fermentation chamber with ice. And I have 25 gallons of beer 
Batten down the hatches and head to high ground.
There’s something about hurricanes and Fantasy Fest. Fortunately Sandy bypassed Key West.
All you East Coasters duck and cover! It’s better to be prepared and not need it, than to need it and not be prepared.
Get cash, gasoline and prescriptions. ATMs, gas pumps and point of sale machines don’t work without power.

Rainy and windy here. They have updated the path and it goes right over my area. Land fall is about eleven hours away. Flood warning for Port, but we are on the cliffs above, so wind is the major threat here. We are prepared. Isabel went right through here nine years ago. Power was out for five days. I have a generator and lots of gas. Cases of water, plenty of food. Hoping for the best, pepared for the worst.
Rain is pouring. Wind picking up. Had a Cleveland radio station on coming home from work and that place is a mess.
I filled 4 better bottles with water for drinking, and filled the bath tub with water for non-potable uses. Setup the propane camping stove on the covered porch, and set the NOAA portable radio. Drained the the sump pump pit prior to the storm, and secured all loose items. I thought I had everything covered and then…
Several hours later I came down stairs and the carpeting was wet. The rubber boot on the sump pump piping broke loose. Had my own little water feature coming out of the slab. I have everything tightened down and all the water swept up. Need to make a run to Home Depot tomorrow. We are expecting 5-10 inches of rain tonight and right now the wind is howling. Woo Hoo! reminds me of living in Florida.
It is very strange to be hearing about a hurricane or tropical storm or whatever that is NOT approaching my home front. Living in the usual path of most of the storms makes this storm seem eerie. I have two brothers and a sister in the path - D.C., Philly and Brooklyn, but I doubt that they will see any problems other than power and services out.
Here in SE Michigan it was cloudy all day and windy. They are talking about 35 ft waves on the shallow parts of the Great Lakes.
Edit - power has not blinked. No problem with too much water here.
Here in New York it’s rocking my building (I live on the 6th floor and feel the building move around) and there is a foot of water running through the streets just a few blocks away! The lights are flickering, the window glass is bending…
It’s blowing like hell here and raining buckets but that’s all so far. Power is still on for the moment. If this is the worst of it we’ll be fine. Fingers crossed.
Power has been out since about 5pm. Doesn’t seem like it was as bad as Irene as far as wind and damage goes. Hopefully that means power comes back soon. Not looking forward to the cold shower in the morning.
Just windy at my brother’s place in NJ. For now.
