Now that the forum has working image embedding again, we can do stuff like this:
I created this template in Canva and simply change the name, beer style, and ABV. I print a sheet, cut them out, and staple them to reusable hanging tags for kegs, jockey box for serving at events, and bottles so I can take them to a brew club meeting.
Recently, I’ve begun using AI to make labels. I’ve tried Gemini, ChatGPT, and the Label Peeler’s versions. Theirs look more polished but use a lot more ink because of all the rich colors.
This one was in honor of a turtle fossil my museum collected…the turtle had really adorable and well preserved feet, so I made a beer in its honor. The bones are from an old public domain publication.
I really love this one and am proud of it…modified some clipart to reflect what we saw during the 2024 total eclipse in Texas. The prominences and coronal patterns are all based on solar activity that day. (I also submitted this label to Zymurgy, and it made it into the magazine!)
For not being an artist I would say these are very good. Love the one legged pallbearer
Sounds like you are into BBQ, what type of smoker do you use and what do you like to make?
I use a pellet smoker (SmokeFire) - do a little bit of everything. Had a pork shoulder last weekend that was my best yet; ribs of various stripes are in pretty regular rotation. Being in SoCal, tritip is also a necessity - I do mine with oak, and it’s super tasty. Any leftover meat gets repurposed into tacos (street taco style); with homemade tortillas and homemade hot sauce, there are never leftovers.
I’ve dabbled in fermented hot sauce — but a cold snap killed my peppers so I’m going to have to wait till next season and start some new ones.
Every year when the Hatch chilis come in to the grocery store, I buy around 2 to 4 lb and do a batch of hot sauce. In my most recent batch, I just threw them in raw after seeding them. In the batch. Before that, I smoked them. Both turned out pretty nice, although I liked the shorter process of the unsmoked ones.
That’s awesome. I like the idea of homemade tortillas and hot sauce. Both are on my list to make. We use a lot of our brisket and pulled pork for tacos also. I do ribs, chicken thighs and just started using the 0-400 method for wings (a good method if you haven’t tried yet). I really like Tri-tip, but it not well known in Michigan and almost impossible to find. I also have a pellet smoker and use a smoke tube with hickory and apple for most everything except brisket (oak). I’m building a small smokehouse in the spring, I just haven’t decided if it will be electric (for the convenience) or a stick burner
Just crafted this label for my Munich dunkel! I’ve brewed this recipe a few times, and it’s a favorite. The graphics are sourced from freely available Creative Commons or public domain components.
I’m loving all these labels!! Thanks for sharing.
