Shipping?

Is there a way to ship bottled homebrew (perhaps for judging purposes?) I am 2000 miles from family homebrewers that would love to try my lastest creations and I am unsure how to get it to them.  Thank you.

UPS

Long story short: USPS is illegal, don’t tell UPS/FedEx what’s in the box.

Excellent.  Easier than I thought.  Thanks.

I ship through UPS with no problem.  I tell the UPS people that the package contains “Live Yeast Samples” that requires a “Fragile” sticker on it.  If you don’t tell them the package is “Fragile” they will toss the package around and try to make it bounce.

Even simpler is to just set up your own account on UPS.com.  You do the shipment online, print out your own shipping label and then just drop it off at UPS - absolutely no questions asked so you don’t need to play games like “Live Yeast Samples”.

You can set up your own account with Fedex too.

I am alos one of those who has set up a UPS account to ship beer.

UPS doesn’t seem to ask any questions if shipping from a commercial address to another commercial address, but I also have an account and do the shipping paperwork on line, then drop it off at the local office supply store.  No need to tell anybody what it is.

Actually, the “Fragile” sticker is what makes them want to throw it off a 2-story ledge when loading the truck  ;D

You need to pack it for rough handling no matter what.  It’s much easier to pay online & print the label because then you can just drop it off or even hand it to a driver who may be making deliveries to your area.
