That guy cracks me up! ;D Why is it that comedians can talk real world sh*t and everybody laughs? He was just talking about ADD or ADHD, how every kid is diagnosed with it today. Thats a topic that really peeves the hell out of me and I’ll leave my opinion at that.
Anybody see in the national news that teachers want to grade parents now too? If you get “needs improvement” or an "unsatisfactory "grade… what will happen? Go back and repeat school… have a detention class… take your kids… go to jail… what? I’m not sure thats a good idea in this day and age… jmo. No matter to me but I sure feel sorry for young people today… even more for the children of today and those to come(?)… not just for the reason mentioned but because so much more has been and will be lost… while they sleep. Sheeple.
Homeschooling is where it’s @ ! It’s the only way you can stay in control anymore. Of course kids have attention deficit, but it’s not a disorder - they’re kids!
Here is another thought, since home schooling was brought up (although I’m not sure that has anything to do with what I’m going to say.) In the past… family businesses flourished and they were indeed family businesses. I wonder how many can say their family business is still alive, beit well or not, but still being run by family members and has been for generation upon generation? I would bet most haven’t a clue what “their family business” even was anymore. Some are obvious… Thatchers were roofers, Bakers were bakers, etc.
Maybe parents should get to grade the teachers, school administration and school board too. I wonder how long teachers will suggest this if it goes both ways.
Got both sets of grandparents through the depression, so I ain’t complaining. I’m here to not complain about it, and you can’t ask for much more than that.
Home schooling is a luxury isn’t it? Some can swing it since a parent can stay at home with he kids. IMO school is as much daycare as anything else for a lot of kids.
But past that I believe it still holds that you can be whatever you want in the USA. I’m glad my dad didn’t end up like a broke hillbilly like his own dad. He got an Engineering degree through the GI Bill.
Anyone who has tried home schooling knows it is not a luxury. It is a lot of work. A full time job’s worth of work It is a great way to teach your children, but be prepared for the commitment.
Pay a lot of taxes to the school district, then on top of that pay a SHIDLOAD to send my kids to an independent school. Had over 180 large invested in my daughter the day she STARTED college… So, large paycheck, large tuition bill, still broke. It’s worth it.
Well, if you call not having a Denali in the driveway a luxury because we’re giving up a salary. Sure it’s a luxury. Not that I have a particular affinity towards them; but pick pretty much anything else a dual income family has and the homeschool family usually chooses to go without.
