Has anyone had experience with this chiller
Yes! I have one of the newer models. Before that, I had a SS BrewTech 3/8HP version. I love the Spike. It’s super quiet compared to the SS Brewtech model. That one was so incredibly loud that it would be disturbing when people were just sitting in my garage trying to have a conversation, and that thing would kick on. Also, it was super leaky.
The Spike has four ports for four different fermenters. They’re push-lock or like the John Guest fittings, so they’re super easy to connect. It’s super easy to clean and open up because there’s no latch, there’s no lock, and since the ports are on the side, it’s easy to just get access to refill or clean with glycol. Plus, it has a drain valve, which the SS Brewtech one didn’t have, which made cleaning it a nightmare.
So if you’re interested in getting one, from my experience, I’ve had it for about a year and a half. It’s been one of the best upgrades I’ve made.
