Received the Zymatic demo unit yesterday. I’m working through how to use it and hopefully I’ll brew with it this weekend or early next week. Should be a real learning experience!
Dimensions (WxDxH): 20.5"x14.5"x17"
Weight: 50 lbs
9lb capacity grain compartment
4 hop cages with capacity of 1.5oz each
802.11 b/g WiFi + Ethernet
Web-browser based PicoBrew.com software
Arduino-based firmware environment
USB connection to PC required for firmware updates
1500W heating element
Power connection: 120V/15amp
Turns out wifi is required to use it. That means I’ll be brewing in the house, not the garage. Also, you need to build recipes using their online software and then d/l them to the Zymatic. It’s VERY different than what I’m used to.
At least not in the next few brews, Leos. This thing is very cool technologically. It will be interesting to see if it’s worth it. OTOH, they recognize there’s a kind of specialized market for it. People who are short on time are ine segment. Also, they’ve had disabled people buy them and now they can brew. I think that’s pretty cool.
Hey, I’m an experimenter and this is an experiment! Which reminds me…did you have a chance to do the survey yet? ;D
