I have five of them now. I have had no problems. Nice smooth interiors. They are not cosmetically perfect on the exterior when new. In my experience the all had minor surface scuffs and the occasional scratch. Overall a good value for the money. Shop around, the prices with shipping vary quite a bit.
Got (4) of the slim lines and like them. Only thing different is the volume. I’m used to getting 5.125 to 5.25 gallons into my old kegs, I can’t even fit 5.00 in the new Slim Line torpedo.
Yup, I bought a 5 gal. slimline and will buy more from Morebeer. Good price, no scuffs or scratches. Just doesn’t hold 5 gallons but fits my kegerator. That’s OK since I brew 6 gal. batches and bottle some anyway.
I filled it to the brim with StarSan from an extra Big Mouth Bubbler that has a valve I installed. Assuming the gallon markers on the BMB are correct, the Slimline Torpedo keg holds 4-3/4 gallons. And, really, about 4-1/2 gallons of beer.
But the weighing trick would be more accurate. I’ll try that next time it’s empty.
I found about the same volumes. I used a keg to keg transfer and could not fit everything from an old keg into the slimline. I then verified that by using my Megapot with gallon graduations. 5 gallons from the Megapot would not fit in the slimline.
No kidding. I have to assume that the 2 1/2 gallon ones don’t hold 2 1/2 gallons which kind of kills it for me: I am starting to lean in the direction of going a bit bigger (3 gallons) not to a bit smaller.
