Unistrut Hoist Frame asking for ideas

As I age it’s becoming more and more difficult lifting a 5 gallon corny keg into the keezer.

Solution? A hoist.

I have the hoist hardware and trolley. I need a plan for a Unistrut frame, that won’t tip over, around my keezer. No, I do not trust the ceiling joists to simply hold the horizontal part with the trolley and hoist hardware. I want ideas for a Unistrut frame around my keezer to accomplish.

This is the strut I’m attempting to describe.

Thanks

if you dont want to hang it from the ceiling, there are unistrut accessories like a post-base you bolt into the floor or ones to attach to the wall. there are little wheeled carts that fit inside the unistrut that you can roll along it if that helps. look at all the accessories and design it, also consider weight requirements

could you build a unistrut frame (think a rectangle just larger than your kegerator) onto which you could have your kegerator setting to anchor it and then have a strut or two extend overhead to mount your hoist?

If you’re only looking for left to right movement on the trolley (X axis only), a gantry design would be pretty easy. Here’s the measurements from a 300lb patient lift gantry. Fairly easy to replicate this one to strut using 30 and 60 degree connectors for the triangle base. Only needing a 55lb lift, you could probably shorten the base to 30 - 32” and still be stable. A wooden gantry is also a viable option.

I’d probably make the top beam about a foot longer than the keezer so you can “land” your kegs off to one side.

That’s the idea, but I’m unsure of connecting together the U channel struts.

Where to obtain the tripod? Also, how to connect the tripod to the U channel strut?
