Water report

I just got my water report back from Ward Labs, and would like to get you opinions on my water quality.  Is this good base water for brewing?  I’m pretty new to all the water chemistry stuff.

Looks good to me. You should be able to build off of it for most styles and can dilute is needed. Plug the values into Bru’n water to see how it compares to the various recommended profiles.

Looks pretty much like RO to me.

That’s what I thought Jon

It’s not RO.  This is from a well that was dug around 30 years ago, and I let the tap run for about 10 min before I took the sample.  I always thought the water in this house was decent, so now I know it is.

Now off to play with Bru’n Water.

I get that. I just meant that since it resembles RO-type water, you have a nice base to build upon.

It may not be RO, but it’s practically there.  You hit the jackpot.

What region of the country are you in?

I can say with confidence, not the Midwest.

Yeah…I think I done good ;D

Knightdale, NC

that is killer water for building up recipes with. Plug that into Brunwater and you will be good to go.

The water in most of NC is very good.

sooo what is the profile of RO Water?

Pretty low levels of most everything, with total dissolved solids under 50ppm-ish. I believe Martin posted that RO must be under 100ppm TDS - I could be wrong. I don’t buy RO over 25 ppm TDS personally.

Edit - RO is just a step above distilled in terms of mineral content.

I should start bottling it and selling it as “Brewing Water” LOL :stuck_out_tongue:
