Anyone ever seen a gas post like this? Red plastic?
Looks to be the same color as one of those party pig things, wonder if they are connected?
I pulled on that looks like that out of a former de pepper keg but it didn’t have the rib like yours. Not sure if it came from the syrup days or previous owner. Replaced with stainless without issue
I have at least one keg that has a similar gas in tube, tried to replace with a SS and it did not fit. Replaced the o ring and used it. Oh, and I boiled it to sanitize.
Williams sells plastic dip tubes. Maybe it would fit in your case.
I had a couple like those, I pulled them and drilled the hole a bit bigger and used a normal as one instead
The weird thing is I break my kegs down after every empty keg. I’ve never noticed this one. Do I drink that much, or is something else going on??
Did you swap kegs with somebody by accident?
I have one keg with plastic in tube. I think it’s a firestone. I am unable to detect any changes it may be contributing
Bought some kegs off a buddy but I could swear I broke them down and cleaned them before filling them. Maybe I missed this one. Anyhow, the top of the post is all warped so I will have to figure something else out. Maybe order another one.
I have 1 or 2 with plastic gas in tubes. Like was said earlier, I don’t remember them having a ribbed spot. I’ve never had any issues with them.

I have one. I looked at it, threw it away, and bought a metal one. Of course, it didn’t fit. I was able to shorten the metal one and use it. Basically, it’s just long enough to hold the o-ring now. About 1/4 inch.
Got a couple like that. Cleaned as usual, been using for 20 yrs. no problems.

I’ve got four like that. Or at least they came like that.
I think the dip tubes may have been brown originally, but they creeped me out.
I pulled them and replaced them with a simple stainless washer and o-ring. Double o-rings work just fine, too.
You can buy the new ones from Williams and other suppliers (I think More Beer has them, or someone else out west) if you want, but standard dip tubes won’t work because these are narrower.
The one keg I had must of had the plastic dip tube added later because a normal stainless dip tube fit fine. I’m guessing cost savings instituted at the syrup factory.
Yep, got a couple kegs that use those.

I’ve replaced the o-ring but couldn’t find an adequate replacement for the tube. They still work fine with new o-rings.
