Wellbeing Brewing - Heavenly Body Golden Wheat (N/A)

This is a good one.  You know that smell that certain macro light lagers have (like a can of Modelo)?  I don’t know how it’s achieved, but this has it.  Other than the finish (which has that certain non-alcoholic beer flavor), the taste and aroma is very close to real beer.

According to the label, they remove the alcohol as opposed to brewing it to be non-alcoholic from the start.  I haven’t tried enough different brands to know if that makes a huge difference or not.

It’s 68 calories with 0 grams of sugar.  I’m really enjoying it.

I think they run it they RO filter to get rid of the alcohol.

If they use RO - I’m thinking it could be ultrafiltration - is there then a beer that is concentrated in alcohol that is also produced?  Alcohol gotta go somewhere!

Perhaps they make White Claw with it.

Yes a brewery in MN made non alcoholic beer with the “wonder” machine. Later on they sold the second part of NA beer in their taproom.

How strong was the alcoholic beer?  Was it palatable?  This must be a function of the selectivity of the filtration, but I would think the filtration must be fairly selective to make a non alcoholic beer that is not stripped of other flavors, leaving the rejected alcoholic portion  imbalanced.  It is a fascinating proposition if it is workable.

I have to admit that I did not try alcoholic or non alcoholic beer from their offer.

I do not think it was very successful because I did not see it again.
