Good topic, Marc! Like you, I’d list Jeff’s recovery and Keith’s success, as well as this forum and all the people on it. I’m tankful for my grandkids, even though I don’t get to see them or their parents as often as I’d like. I’m thankful that most days life doesn’t kick my butt too hard. I’m thankful for my dogs and cats, whose unconditional love always makes me feel better at the end of a tough day. Most of all, I’m thankful for my wonderful wife of nearly 32 years for putting up with me when I do the weirdest shit and loving me through all of it.
I’m also glad for Keith and Drew even though we’ve never met. The same for Jeff’s progressing recovery. Mainly I’m thankful for my parents still being alive- and I don’t get to see them as much as I want. Then for having a good stable job that has insulated me from the economic woes so many of our fellow Americans have suffered. And peace at the workplace- no one’s fighting on my shift. That could change but I hope that just wasn’t a jinx.
I’m really pleased that it can be honestly said that I have material wants but no needs. Except a rear view mirror for my VW. Thieves got that. Needs replacing. I also learned a fair bit about myself this year- hopefully not too damage was done in the process!
Really great about Jeff doing better. I’m filled with hate and jealouy towards Malor, but I thrilled for him ;D
In a shocking turn of events, I can’t believe how good Idaho has been to and for me. I’ve got the easiest job, with the best schedule ever. Yeah, the work kinda sucks, but the benefits more than make up for it. I’m married to the best girl even, and have some of the best friends I’ve never met, right here. This calls for a beer. 8)
I’m thankful that Jeff is on the road to recovery, that Major is livin the dream. I’m thankful that this forum exists and frequented by so many knowlegable and people willing to share their experiences. I’m thankful that I have such a wonderful (beer lovin) wife.
And I’m thankful that my Senators are tanking so I don’t have to worry about them losing to Weaz’s Pens again this year.
:-\
Since last year I’ve got about 365 different things!
It’s been a wonderful year personally. Highlights include:
Catching Jimmy Buffett’s flip-flop @ the concert in Vegas & appearing in the video @ Shoreline.
My son’s wedding.
7-day cruise to Mexico w/stellar weather.
Giants win the World Series.
Success w/batches of wine, mead, & of course homebrew.
My sister’s distillery got it’s permits.
Got the kitchen remodeled.
& so much more…
Peace, good health and happiness are the big three.
I’m very glad to see babalu (Jeff) making significant progress as of lately. Thanks to Denny, Keith, Fred and Drew for having faith and trust and voting me in as global moderator. By golly…This is the greatest beer forum on the planet. Also, thanks to the AHA for everything they have done to support our craft.
I want to also thank my lovely wife Rosemary for supporting my obsession and putting up with me through thick and thin. I could go on…but I don’t want to bore everyone.
First of all, thankful that I made it through another year!
Thankful for interesting projects on the work front that have come my way this year.
And thankful for family and good friends (including the friends here, most of whom I’ve never met…maybe one of these years at the Homebrew conference?)
Happy that my parents and siblings are all still alive, though in various levels of health.
Happy(most of the time) I’m still married and about to celebrate 30 years to marriage.
Happy to have a good job that I usually enjoy.
Very happy to have both of my children working for me.
Happy that we met some truly wonderful and generous people on our vacation this year.
Very happy that the bogus lawsuit against our company is finally over.
Happy to have all my taps flowing with beery goodness AND have enough good store bought stuff to suit any taste.
On the downside I lost my boss/best friend this year to cancer. I wish he had survived long enough to see the end of the lawsuit, he could have died happy but he knew we had it in the bag.
I’m thankful for another year of good health for everyone in my family. Thankful that even tho I switched jobs in a really stressful situation this year it worked out ok in the end. I’m thankful to have good friends, who cheered me up when I was down, and accepted me back when I got my head out of my ass. I’m thankful for beer.
Oops… good catch. 1-21 is an important birthdate in my household. I got the dates confused. However the countdown clock on my computer’s desktop keeps the date straight for me.
I am thankful to be alive without major health issues…and that the same goes for my kids and my best friend and wife of 20 years, and my job and and and…
…and having found the joy of brewing and this forum full of helpful people. You are a good crowd. Happy holidays and new year.
