I brewed my third batch, an amber. Tasted it after the specific gravity check it was on target and tasted good :), transfered from primary to secondary for 7 days checked specific gravity before bottling. Tasted it again and it had no taste at all >:(, specific gravities where within spec so I bottled to see what will happen, in 10 more days I will find out. What could have happened? What could I have messed up? ???
There may have been (probably was) more CO2 in solution when you tasted it in the primary. When you racked it some CO2 came out of solution and off gassed. That may have caused your perception of the flavor to be different.
I wouldn’t worry about it if it tasted good in the primary. Let it carb up and I bet it’ll taste fine.
+1 on the carb changing the flavour. RDWHAHB! also post your recipe details for more specific advice. But in general any thing bad you might have done to the beer in the process of racking wouild cause MORE flavour not less, not good flavour but more.
