What is Snowcap?

It has been about 16 years since I was stationed at Ft. Lewis, Washington, and I consumed my fair share of Pyramid’s Snowcap Ale.  That was back in the transition from BMC, so all I knew is that it was a good freakin’ beer.  What style of beer is it, and would anybody know of a good AG clone recipe?  Thanks in advance for any info.

I’m not familiar with the brew but this may be a start:

Edit: damn you, ndcube!

Sorry.  Blame my job.  Kind of slow right now.

I think style wise Snow Cap is a winter warmer.  I came up with a fairly close recipe for it years back.  Thanks for the reminder…I may to to brew it again soon!

I’ve never tried it, bot would like to. It looks and sounds…well like a winter warmer. Pun intended.  ;D

I did a search and found your recipe on tastybrew.  It says that there were some problems with the recipe.  Is there somewhere else that it is posted with corrections?

There’s a correct version here…

Thank you sir.  I am definitely going to give this one a try.

I should add a warning about the WY1338.  It makes a great tasting beer, but it can take a long time to finish.  Be sure to pitch a large starter and aerate like heck.

“long”, ha, aren’t you just the master of understatement  :)  That stuff takes forever but on the plus side, it makes an entire loaf of bread on top of your beer.
