Whatcha Brewin' this week -- 2009 Nov 25-Dec 1?

Again time to see what’s brewin?

Trifecta for me.

#1 ABC

#2 Cellar Classic Syrah wine kit (does that count)

#3 11 gallons American IPA

It’s a good week!

I am brewing Jamils Evil Twin.  I thought I would try this once and hopefully it is as good as I have heard.

At laddy, heading to Scotland Friday

A Wee Heavy and then whatever X0/- I can get with the second runnin’s

Might try to squeeze another brew in on Sunday. A German Pils or a Dortmunder

About 20 minutes left to boil on a Christmas Saison this AM.

Roggenbier.  Set to go Friday morning, just gotta remember to fill the propane tank.  I may have to boil a little longer to make up for all the rain that ends up in the kettle  ::slight_smile:

not brewing anything - but I will be cleaning 4 new kegs along with all my fermenters and other stuff - planning on several brew sessions over the next couple of weeks.

Did a Scottish partigyle last week.  I used the partigyle chart for a 1/3-2/3 and ended up with the first runnings a wee bit high @1.142 for 5 gallons. Second runnings were fine @1.042 for 10 gallons.  The Wyeast 1728 is really rippin’ through it. Keep the temp way down.  I ended up dropping it to 58 before the blow ceased on the Strong Scotch Ale.  Ticking it up a degree per day now until 65.

Hopefully a Delirium Tremens clone (N8 style) and a Dortmunder. Grow yeast Grow!

Brewing something on Fri., haven’t decided what yet.  I’ve got a 1450 slurry around (who’s surprised?) and I may do a batch of Nick Danger porter.  Or I may just look through the grain and hop stash and make it up as I go…

That DT recipe of N8’s is great, isn’t it?

It is wonderful. It’s for a club contest. Doing a split batch with DT yeast and WL510.

On Friday after Thanksgiving I will be doing Jamil’s Dirty water Brown for the second time. Will, not change a thing as that is one nice beer.
Cheers.

I am racking two buckets of Denny’s VBIP to the secondary for the vanilla addition. I hope to brew my Bock next weekend.

I am finally going to do my first all grain this weekend, actually 2 of them. The Helles kit and the Oatmeal stout kit from NB. Will crush the grains Thursday after we get home from the Inlaws and since the kids are staying there and the Wife works, I will have a long brew day on Friday. Wish me luck.

Good luck!  Once ya do it, you’ll be amazed at how easy it is.

+1

and how great your beer will be too.

Not brewing this weekend, but will be bottling my English Bitter.
