What's your Favorite Style of Beer?

Most people have a favorite.

I realize there are some folks that have many favorites as is the case with myself, but if you had to narrow it down to one style that was your favorite…what would it be?

Me being the hop head that I am…I am an IPA kinda guy. I love hops, fresh hops and lots of them.  ;D

What’s your favorite style of beer?

Tripel for me… but I haven’t tried them all yet.

If I had to bick one…Double IPA’s

I have really been into a sour/wild ale kick lately though…

It varies throughout the year.  Winter is Oatmeal Stout, summer is IPA.

But to narrow it down, most of the year I like IPA’s, not too bitter but with loads of hop aroma and flavor.

Definitely IPA. Pilsner is up there too.

I love me some APA/IPA

IIPA, or some may say DIPA …  Love the various combinations of “C” hops and Amarillo!

The one in my glass…
But seriously now
IPA and Dubbel

Stout, especially Oatmeal Stout.  Even so, the first time I had a Caledonian 80/- on tap (& I mean imported from Scotland), I proclaimed that I had discovered a new all time favorite beer.

My first bottle of Rochefort 6 was close to the same epiphany-like experience as the Caledonian.

hefeweizen

At the moment my favorite is Wit.  But I am new to home brewing, having spent the last couple of months reading everything I can and buying/making equipment.  This weekend I will be brewing my first batch, an English brown ale.  So I am sure that my favorite is be changing on a regular basis.

It is hard for me to nail one style down, but if I could get a couple it would be Wee Heavy or Dubbel. But I love IPAs, porters, and barley wines too. Its a mood thing for me, but I have no problem drinking a RIS in the middle of summer, or a Wit in the dead of winter

Dubbel without a doubt.  Followed by Porters and Scottish Ales.

No Question about it here, IPA!! The Hoppier the better!

APA/IPA fo life!

Love a nice Belgian strong dark too.

Tough choice but I’ll say Weissbier because I can have a Hefeweizen, Dunkelweizen AND Weizenbock

Sure I’d miss the hoppy beers but there is nothing like a Hefeweizen on a hot Summer day OR a Dunkelweizen once the leaves start falling.

Right now, Scottish ales . . 70 schillings and up. Ask me again in 6 months, likely something completely different.

That’s a tough question.  I’m gonna go with the American Pale Ale.

Not even a difficult question: IPA.

I have two favorites…on practically opposite ends of the flavor spectrum:

IPA (plenty bitter and aromatic but without any grassy late hop flavors).
Scotch Ale/Wee Heavy.

In truth, I  like most traditional “styles” except Belgian and Wheat beers, but the two types I’ve mentioned are beers I can enjoy anytime.
