I need a new one, what do you guys use?
there are just so many to choose from.
What are you trying to regulate?
C02
I use one I got at the Home Fermenter Center here in Eugene. I have no idea what brand it is, but it’s worked flawlessly and survived my abuse for nearly 15 years.
Does manufacturer make a difference?
I have one I bought at NFC Gas here in Chicago and one I bought off of eBay (I’m pretty sure it was used, but I don’t recall for sure).
They both seem to work just fine. Pretty much the same basic construction.
FWIW, I don’t think you really need the high pressure gauge. I have one with and one without.
If you don’t have a backup tank, it’s nice to get a heads-up that you’re almost out of gas.
Good point. I stand corrected.
I would say I have the benefit of three tanks, but what I recently realized is that I go through them so slowly (I have a 15 and a 20 lb) that by the time they’re empty they need to be recertified (except for the 5lb), so it costs more. On the positive side, they swapped out the steel 20 for an aluminum, since that was all they had.
Any brand names?
I’ve got a couple of these: http://www.beveragefactory.com/draftbeer/regulator/double/premium_double_gauge_beer_co2_regulator.shtml
One triple gauge and one double gauge and they’ve worked great.
I could go look at brand names, but I’ve never bothered to check them at all. They all seem to work fine.
If you standardize on one manufacturer, it’s easier keeping any repair parts on hand like rebuild kits.
Looks like buying online saves me like 50 bucks. Checked locally and some taprites are 100+ for duals. O well, ill keep shopping!
I think I got my eBay regulator for around $35. 6 years or so later, it works just fine.
What brand
I’ll check tonight. I meant to over the weekend, but obviously never did.
What do you guys think of this one?

Looks nice. Good price.
But, it won’t attach to your tank. They’re selling it as a dual secondary regulator, so you still need a primary regulator coming off the tank.
You might could change the fitting on the far right side of the photo, but you might as well just buy something that does what need and comes ready to go.
I honestly don’t think manufacturer matters much as these are pretty basic items.
I was thinking the same thing
I’ve got a couple of these: http://www.beveragefactory.com/draftbeer/regulator/double/premium_double_gauge_beer_co2_regulator.shtml
One triple gauge and one double gauge and they’ve worked great.
I agree with this recommendation. I have that exact regulator and it has been great. My old one needed a screwdriver to set the pressure and I hated it for a really long time. When the old one finally died, I got this one with the large knob and I was wishing I’d have made the switch years earlier.
I want that one but the price is killing it for me
