WLP 800

This is the first time using this strain for me. I’ve noticed with my yeast starter that this strain has been active for a much longer time than the ale yeasts that I normally use (001 and 007 are the most popular). For those of you who have used WLP 800, is this normal for it to be a slow but active yeast?

Yes, it may take a while to finish its work.  I used this on some pilsners and had great success through many repeated batches and reused yeast slurries.  Fermented at 50F and no D-rest needed, but I kept the beers on the yeast cake for a full month.

I have used 800 on several batches of BoPils and CAPs.
My experience is similar to Ynotbrusum’s.
